Each year on March 2, we celebrate Dr Seuss’ birthday. It’s a nationwide celebration with NEA’s Read Across America Day. Thousands of schools, libraries, and other childhood organizations participate with many Dr Seuss themed activities. In the area we live in, many teachers let the kids dress up as their favorite character, they read many of the favorite Dr Seuss books, bring in themed snacks, and play games. As a child I loved reading Dr Seuss books, and later enjoyed reading them to my own kids. I’m looking forward to the day when I can read them to my grandchildren (in MANY years, I have tweenagers now, haha!). These also make great gifts for new parents at baby showers, or birthday gifts for young children. They are excellent for new readers to practice learning to read with.
Favorite Dr. Seuss Books
I have fond memories of reading many Dr. Seuss books to my children, and later them learning to read them to me! These 5 books are my Favorite Dr. Seuss books, and I still have copies of them 🙂 If you’re shopping for Dr Seuss Themed School Supplies for your favorite student or teacher, these would make a great addition to a home or classroom library!
