We are entering our 5th year living in New England. When we first moved here, we quickly realized that we needed to upgrade one of our vehicles to a 4 wheel drive. The town road crews do an excellent job of quickly clearing and treating the roads when storms hit, but sometimes you get caught out in them, and at other times, the snow is falling faster than the road crews can keep up. Additionally, we have a very long driveway, and sometimes our plow guy isn’t able to clear the driveway until a storm is complete. With small children in the house, we decided we’d feel more comfortable having a vehicle that could confidently navigate these situations. There were times the sedans just couldn’t make it up the hill part of our driveway.
During our time here, we really enjoyed taking day trips around New England. We often visit the White Mountains. I love seeing the beautiful scenery, driving the Kancamagus Highway, there are so many things to see and do up there! Driving up Mount Washington Auto Road is still on my to-do list, and a sturdy, reliable vehicle is a must have! We also like to go down to Boston and see the City, drive over to the Beach, up to Maine, across to Six Flags, and of course, the kids and I took the major road trip this summer to Tennessee!
Now, in 2017, while exceptionally happy with the vehicle I selected and purchased from Taylor Thorne at Grappone, in Bow, NH, I am taking another big leap. I am going to the 2017 New England International Auto Show in Boston! I don’t plan on being a Minivan Mom forever. It’s ideal for our current season of life, carting children and all their gear from one event to the next. Not to mention, groceries for teenage boys! The oldest will be 15 this year, and his brothers aren’t too far behind him. We’ll likely be in the market for something for them to share at some point in the not too distant future. I can’t wait to explore the options at the New England International Auto Show!
It’s so important to know what are the important things to look for when choosing one car over another. Make sure you understand the terminology. Don’t be intimidated or afraid to ask questions until you understand, and be sure to do your research ahead of time. Once you select the vehicle that best suits your personal needs, compare prices, find a dealership that is reputable. If you’re in New England, I honestly can’t recommend Grappone in Bow, NH, enough. I pass many other dealerships each time I drive my car up there for service, but it’s worth it to me because they are kind and treat me with respect.
