Being paid to blog is the ultimate dream of many bloggers. If you are just starting out, you might be wondering how exactly can you earn money by just writing on your blog. Whilst there is a number of ways of monetising your blog, today I wanted to share with you one of my favourite ways of earning some extra cash, by writing a sponsored blog posts.
There are many ways of getting that first sponsored blog post, but rather than approaching brands individually; it is much easier to join a blogging network that already has connections to established brands that are looking to work with bloggers.
Here are my favourite 5 blogging networks to help you to get your first paid blogging assignment.
Get Blogged
This is one of the very first blogging networks I’ve joined and it’s a very easy platform to use. Once you sign up and complete your blogging profile (including few basic details about your blog and social media), you are welcome to start applying for paid blogging opportunities.
It’s best to consider each opportunity based on the specific requirements and whether it would suit your blog. For example, there is not much point applying for a blogging opportunity about travelling to Bali, when your blog is about home decor, you don’t write about travelling and have never been to Bali. You are more likely to be selected if you apply for opportunities that fit your blog niche, and you also take a bit of time to describe how you’d complete the assignment.
All opportunities are posted on the main portal with closing dates and all the relevant information you need to complete the blogging assignments. Payment varies on the complexity of the task (sometimes the job includes posting on your social media), length of the blog post, but also your website domain authority.
Best British Bloggers
Whilst the title suggests it’s UK based blogging network, it’s reach is worldwide, so if you are based elsewhere you are also welcome to join the network. Like other platforms, Best British Bloggers match each campaign to the most suitable blogger, so that you benefit not just financially, but you continue keeping the integrity of your blog style and niche.
Brandbacker
Brandbacker is a large blogging platform connecting brands and influencers. Once you apply and complete your profile, you can start applying for various campaigns, which include sponsored blog posting, product testing or discounts.
BlogDash
BlogDash is a community of more than 200K bloggers, which sounds a little bit daunting, but everyone is really friendly, and they help you to get your blog noticed. BlogDash connects you with international PR agencies and brands, so it’s best to apply if your blog is aimed at a worldwide audience.
Bloggers Required
Registering is easy on this platform, and you can opt in to have daily or weekly email alerts to make sure you don’t miss any jobs. This is a slightly smaller community of bloggers (around 16K), but this just means that you are more likely to succeed in getting a paid blogging opportunity.
Feed My Blog
This blogging portal connects professional bloggers to brands and PR agencies for paid blogging work and also product reviews. It’s best suited for fashion, lifestyle or travel bloggers, but other blogging niches are also considered.
