Easy Weeknight Meals
Like many of you, my family is on the go daily, and weeknights are very hectic, so we need easy weeknight meals. I’m driving my mom taxi from carpool to carpool, dropping off children at various club meetings and sporting events, then racing around town to pick them all up. I love it though, and wouldn’t change it for the world. The time when they’re grown and don’t need me to taxi them around is rapidly approaching, so it’s important to me to enjoy every moment. Part of that though means that it’s not always practical to make a homemade meal from scratch every night. I try to meal plan for the week, scheduling around the kid’s various activities. We are so fortunate to have a Sam’s Club in our town, and it’s in a convenient location so I am able to pop in and pick up things at least twice a week.
My teenagers are all small in size, but they have voracious appetites. Buying in bulk at Sam’s Club is the best way to keep our grocery budget on track. I love that Sam’s Club offers great prices on our favorite brands! Two of my children love to drink tea with dinner, Gold Peak® Tea is their favorite. My other child loves Simply Lemonade®, and he drinks a glass with each of his meals. We enjoy Simply Orange® with breakfast, Sprite®, vitaminwater® and smartwater® throughout the day and when we’re on the go. I love that the Coke family of products is so affordably priced!
When we need a delicious meal quickly, we enjoy many of the Member’s Mark Meals. We will enjoy these at least once a week, sometimes more during our busiest weeks. They are located in the Meat Department, which is near the checkout area at our local club. I make my shopping list based on the location of products in the store, then grab my meals on the way out the door. I bring them home and place them in the refrigerator. For most of them, you just remove the plastic lids and cover the dish with aluminum foil, bake for the designated time, and enjoy. It’s so easy that my teenagers are able to cook and serve on their own if I’m still on the go with one of their siblings. We utilize the Scan & Go App as well, if I’m shopping at a busy time, so I don’t have to stand in line to pay. Quick & easy, perfect for families on the go!
Of the Member’s Mark Meals available, we have personally tried & enjoyed the Grilled Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Rotisserie Chicken Enchiladas, 5 Cheese Stuffed Shells, Chicken Parmesan, Stuffed Peppers, Meatloaf and Whipped Potatoes, Chicken Pot Pies, Rotisserie Chicken, Assorted Green Salads, and Twice Baked Potatoes. We’ve found the meal sizes to be consistent at our local Sam’s Clubs, and each meal has been enough to feed our family of 5. I also love using the Rotisserie Chickens to shred the chicken for use in my own homemade casseroles. $5 for a whole cooked chicken is a great price!
